Vardit Ravitsky, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Bioethics Program at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal and currently serves as Interim Director of the Program. Previously, she was faculty at the Department of Medical Ethics and Senior Fellow at the Center for Bioethics, University of Pennsylvania.

Between 2003 and 2005 she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Clinical Bioethics at the NIH and at the Social and Behavioral Research Branch (SBRB) of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). She received a B.A. in philosophy from the Sorbonne University in Paris, an M.A. in philosophy from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, and a PhD from Bar-Ilan University in Israel.

Beyond academic activities, her work in bioethics includes a significant involvement in public policy. Since 2006 she has been involved in policy work in Canada, first as a consultant to Genome Canada on Ethical, Economic, Environmental, Legal and Social aspects of Genomics (GE3LS) Research and then as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Ethics Office of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
